Bridget Wojtowich

Certified Professional Midwife

I live in Singer, LA with my husband and 2 children. We stay busy and work hard together. It brings us closer together and reminds us to stay grateful. I love family! When I’m caring for a client, I get to join their family for a short time too. I try to be a building block in the family support system. Helping mamas find their inherent strength; daddies to embrace peace in uncertainty; and grandparents to make room for new ideas. This space dedicated to growth is safeguarded by a midwife and naturally helps families strengthen. Family First isn’t just a name to me, it’s a philosophy and a priority in my practice.

My Philosophy of Care

  • Pregnancy and birth are natural events that should be respectfully monitored for risks.

  • All families should have access to safe care that aligns with their unique needs; including emotional, spiritual, social, physical, and economic needs.

  • Midwives should support women throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to become empowered, knowledgeable, capable, and strong mothers.

  • Birth should occur where the mother feels safest, whether that be in or out of a hospital.

  • Intuition should never be ignored. When given the space to, women communicate with their bodies in a way that no provider or technology can replicate.

  • Mothers have the right and responsibility to make informed decisions about all aspects of their care and the care of their babies.

  • Care provided should support and strengthen the family as a whole.

  • Higher levels of care should be reserved for women whose risks surpass the scope of practice for an out of hospital midwife or those who, for any reason, no longer feel safe receiving midwifery care.
