Services Included

All care provided by the midwife is included in the global midwifery fee. Care outside of this scope or provided by anyone not employed by Family First Midwifery is not included. (Anatomy Scan, MFM/OB consult or hospital visits for unexpected problems).

Insurance is not filed by the midwife. However, a superbill can be given upon the completion of care for individual insurance submission.

 

The following are offered at no extra cost:

• Prenatal care every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly until birth

• All standard labs & cultures: Blood is drawn by the midwife in your home

• Two ultrasounds at 12 weeks and 32 weeks to confirm a single baby in the head down position.

• All supplies needed for the birth: birth kit, birth tub, liner, hose, waterproof bed liner, etc.

• Attendance of the midwife or a backup midwife for labor and birth (unless precipitous birth limits attendance)

• An assistant to help the midwife during the birth, a second midwife typically assists when possible

• IV fluids during labor if needed

• Antibiotics in labor for GBS prophylaxis

• Immediate postpartum care for at least 2 hours after placenta delivery and confirmation of maternal and newborn stability

• Emergency care including management of postpartum hemorrhage, positive pressure ventilation of the newborn, oxygen administration, and repair of a 1-2 degree perineal tear if indicated

• 3-4 postpartum visits

• For baby: newborn metabolic screening, CCHD, preservative free injectable Vitamin K or oral Vitamin K, eye ointment, cord blood typing if requested

• Rhogam for Rh - mothers

• Any required referrals

• Any needed support for breastfeeding, infant care, pregnancy discomfort, and postpartum

None of the interventions listed are required! They are simply available for women desiring them without cost being a deciding factor.

 

Global Fee for Midwifery Care: $6000

Must be paid in full by 37 weeks. 

In House Financing can be done directly with the midwife through Zelle, PayPal, Cash, or Card on the following schedule:

 

By 37 weeks: $6000

By 32 weeks: $4800

By 27 weeks: $3600

By 22 weeks: $2400

By 17 weeks: $1200

A $1200 retainer must be paid before the initial appointment.

More flexible financing is available through SimplePay. Home birth is an investment. It requires your time to stay educated, healthy, and to grow a partnership with your midwife. It is also a financial investment. My fee is designed to optimize client care. No corners are cut. The following outlines my continued investments in your care:

• I buy high quality equipment and it remains well stocked. The use of supplies, equipment, and medication are never an extra charge. I provide all supplies needed for birth including a birth pool.

• You have my time whenever needed for questions or concerns through my personal cell phone number.

• I pay another midwife to attend your birth as an assistant whenever possible.

• I am on call and available 24/7 for you from 37 weeks to 42 weeks. This means I maintain reliable transportation, childcare, and that you and your baby have priority over my personal life. I pay a backup midwife and assistant if I become unavailable for any reason during this time.

• I maintain continuing education to ensure I provide the most up to date evidence based care.

 

With that said, I never want to see a woman turned away due to financial barriers. If your application through SimplePay is denied please let me know. We may be able to work out an alternative payment plan.
